Difference between equal tee and reducing tee

Tee is also called pipe fitting tee or tee fitting or tee joint. The pipe fitting tee can change the fluid direction and branch out of the main pipeline. Usually, we can classify all tees according to the pipe diameter. The primary raw material includes malleable iron tee, ductile iron tee, carbon steel tee, cast steel tee, alloy steel tee, stainless steel tee, copper tee, aluminium alloy tee, plastic tee, argon tee, asphalt tee, PVC tee and other materials.

Reducing tee:

The diameter is different from that of the other two branches. It is a reducing tee. Another reducing tee, the diameters of the three ports are different, also called reducing tee. The diameter of the branch pipe becomes smaller, which can increase the medium pressure of the branch pipe.

Reducing Tee Classifications and Scenarios

Welded Reducing Tee: Reducing welded Tee for applications that require a change in pipe diameter in a piping system to maintain a stable connection.

Flange Reducing Tee: Reducing flange tee for flanged connections where different diameters of pipes need to be connected in a piping system.

Threaded Reducing Tee: Reducing threaded tees, which are suitable for small- to medium-sized piping systems, offers the option of connecting different pipe diameters.

These classifications are selected based on specific needs and characteristics of the piping system. For example, welded types are suitable for high-pressure, high-temperature environments, while flanged connections are suitable for applications that require frequent removal and replacement. Threaded connections, on the other hand, are more suitable for small to medium-sized, low-pressure piping systems. Reducing Tee is usually used when there is a need to change the direction of fluid flow or pipe diameter in the pipeline to meet the requirements of system design and operation.

Equal tee:

Link to Ziheng

The diameter is the same as that of the other two branch pipes. It is an equal tee.

Equal Tee Classification and Applicable Scenarios

Welded Equal Tee: Connected by welding, suitable for applications requiring a stable connection and high strength, such as high-pressure and high-temperature environments.

Flanged Equal Tee: With a flanged connection, it is suitable for applications where frequent disassembly is required, providing more flexible installation and maintenance options.

Threaded Equal Tee: Easy to install with a threaded connection, suitable for small to medium-sized piping systems, no welding required.

Application of TEE

Construction and maintenance of projects in the petrochemical industry, petroleum and natural gas, liquefied gas, chemical fertilizer, power plant, nuclear power, shipbuilding, papermaking, pharmacy, food hygiene, urban construction, and other industries of these projects have pipeline demands about the reducing tees and equal tee.

It is the application of TEE in the gas pipeline.

As a partner of China Gas Group, Jianzhi casting group is a significant supplier of gas pipelines in China. And is a member of the China Gas Association. If you have relevant requirements for gas pipeline equal tee and reducing tee, you are welcome to inquire.
